Enchanted Forest Trail, Glebe Wood, Haslingfield

Pupils have worked hard over the summer term to create an Enchanted Wood trail in Glebe Wood by building fairy themed environments.  Every pupil in the school took part in the making process with the Year 6 pupils leading the project. Buildings were inspired by the houses in the village including the Village hall, Country Kitchen, Moringa tree and Haslingfield Church. Pupils also used the Enchanted Wood trail as a stimulus for creative writing, drama and music.

Headmaster, Graeme McLeod, "After such a difficult time due to COVID limitations, we wanted to create an exciting project to celebrate being back in school.  The children have grown up with Glebe Wood and we wanted them to think about all the exciting possibilities the wood can offer in terms of arts activities. We were amazed by their enthusiasm and creativity. All pupils got involved and we felt that they all had a sense of pride and ownership of the project".

The trail has proved very popular with visitors, and we hope to keep the Enchanted trail in place over the summer holidays.
