Pupil Voice

At Haslingfield School, we aim to ensure every child has a voice that is genuinely heard. We want pupils to feel confident expressing their views, sharing their ideas and influencing the world around them. Creating safe, supportive environments where children feel valued is central to this work.

We are committed to meaningful pupil participation. Children are encouraged to be involved, offered equal opportunities to contribute, and supported to take part in ways that suit their needs. We regularly review how pupil voice is embedded across the school to make sure our provision remains strong, inclusive and effective. It is important to us that children play an active role in evaluating these opportunities and shaping how they develop.

Our approach to pupil voice is wide‑ranging. Children take part in groups such as the School Council, House Captain leadership, environmental and sports committees, and health and safety or play and games groups. They also contribute through working groups, lesson observations, research activities, peer collaboration and involvement in staff appointment processes. Alongside this, pupils share their views through formal meetings, feedback boxes and regular surveys, ensuring we hear from a broad range of voices across the school.

Together, these opportunities help us build a school community where children feel respected, empowered and able to influence their learning and environment.
