Complaints and Concerns

At Haslingfield Primary School, we value strong, positive relationships with parents and our wider school community. We recognise that there may be times when you have questions or concerns, and we encourage these to be raised with us promptly so that we can address and resolve them as quickly as possible.

We ask that all informal concerns are brought to us through a respectful conversation with school staff in the first instance, rather than through written or formal correspondence. This approach helps protect staff time and supports quicker, clearer and more constructive outcomes for everyone involved.

If you need guidance on what to do when you have a concern or question, please refer to the documents below.

The Parent Guide to School Complaints is published by the Department for Education, Parentkind and Ofsted — provides clear, practical advice on how to raise concerns effectively. It explains the difference between feedback, a concern and a formal complaint, and offers helpful tips on contacting the right person, communicating calmly and following the school’s process without feeling stuck or unheard.

Its aim is always resolution, not conflict.
