Sports Premium Funding
The Government has committed over £450 million to improving physical education and sport in primary schools. This funding is allocated directly to schools, and it is the responsibility of the Headteacher and PE Subject Leader to use it in ways that best support pupils’ physical development and access to high‑quality sport.

Schools have flexibility in how they use the funding. It can be used to hire specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work alongside staff, provide places for pupils in after‑school or holiday sports clubs, offer professional development for teachers, or run sports competitions within school and with other schools.

At Haslingfield Endowed Primary School, we use our PE and Sport Premium to strengthen both provision and participation. As part of this, we subscribe to the South Cambs Schools Sports Partnership and benefit from the support of a Primary PE Specialist for half a day each week. We also invest in a wide range of enrichment activities, including Bikeability for all Year 6 pupils, Balanceability for EYFS and Year 1, top‑up swimming, Play Leaders training, and whole‑school intra‑school competitive events.
