We encourage children to take responsibility for their learning and to be actively involved in reviewing how they learn. They are supported to reflect on what helps them make progress and what they find more challenging, so they can become confident, independent learners.

When teaching, our focus is on motivating every child and building on their existing skills, knowledge and understanding. Our curriculum plan guides this work, setting out the school’s aims, values and the learning expectations for each year group.

Teachers continually assess each child’s progress and use this information to shape future learning. This ensures lessons are planned with children’s individual needs in mind. Our priority is to help every child strengthen their knowledge and skills, and we strive to provide tasks that are appropriately matched to each learner’s stage of development.
