Computing
Curriculum Intent
In an ever‑changing digital world, technology plays a significant role in children’s daily lives. At Haslingfield Endowed Primary School, we aim to model and teach pupils how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely, ensuring they grow into confident and thoughtful digital citizens.

Our Computing curriculum provides a broad and balanced experience across computer science, information technology and digital literacy. Children use a wide range of software and hardware to share their learning creatively and purposefully, developing skills that prepare them for an increasingly digital future.

We recognise the importance of developing Computing skills through both on‑screen and off‑screen learning. Pupils are taught to be fluent with a variety of tools and approaches so they can demonstrate their understanding effectively. By Upper Key Stage 2, we aim for children to have the independence and confidence to select the most appropriate tool or method to meet the challenge set by their teachers.
