Forest School
Forest School at Haslingfield School gives our Reception children the chance to learn through hands‑on experiences in a natural outdoor setting. They build confidence, self‑esteem and a sense of awe and respect for the world around them. Our other year groups are also able to enjoy Forest School sessions once each half term.

Forest School takes a holistic approach, supporting children’s emotional development — including self‑awareness, self‑regulation, social skills, empathy and motivation. Children are encouraged to be curious, inventive and confident in exploring challenges and managing risk.

Through practical activities, children develop problem‑solving skills, learn to reflect on their experiences, and safely use tools to build physical skills and decision‑making.

Forest School also nurtures a lifelong connection with nature, helping children understand healthy lifestyles and appreciate the world around them. With time to follow their own interests, children show greater motivation and improved concentration.
